Sept. 1 Obituaries
Harold “Lynn” Bratton, 71, of Burnet, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 27, 2018 in Bertram.
His nephew, Jay Mayo, officiated his graveside service at Marion Cemetery in Lohn at 1 p.m. today. The service was under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home.
Lynn was born in Brady on March 5, 1947 to Hugh Bratton and Ellen “Parker” Bratton. Lynn lived a large part of his life in Snyder, where he owned Bratton Construction and Professional Bail Bonds for many years. He met the love of his life, Sue Connell, and they married on Oct. 12, 1964 and were happily married for 53 years. They had two wonderful children together, Terry and Deborah. Lynn was happiest when he was at his lake home that he built close to Lake Brownwood and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He loved to be outdoors, fishing and fixing things. Lynn was a very talented carpenter, mechanic, plumber and the list goes on. There was not much that he couldn’t fix or build.
God saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, so he closed your weary eyelids and whispered, “Peace be thine.” May you rest in peace, until we meet again.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Ellen Bratton; one brother, Ronald Bratton; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Bratton and Nona Connell; one brother-in-law, Larry Connell; and one nephew, Barry Mayo.
