Erma Devers
Erma Devers, 80, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, at her daughter’s home in Church Point, La. following a lengthy illness. 
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Erma Nell Lauw was born on April 16, 1938 to William and Erna (Gerhardt) Lauw in Shiner, the youngest of three children. Erma lived the majority of her life in Scurry County, working in restaurants, cosmetology and property management. She was an independent, self-educated and hard working woman, a free spirit who enjoyed dancing, fishing, golfing, horseback riding and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother James Lauw.
She is survived by two daughters, Connie Landry and her husband, Wesley, of Church Point, La. and Vicky Williams, of Irving; two grandchildren, Heath Irvine and his wife, Kelsey, of Weatherford and Marci Cmerek and her husband, Matt, of Lubbock; two great-granddaughters, Jordyn Irvine and Dylan Cmerek; one sister, Patsy Channel and her husband, James, of Odessa; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Lauw.

Kathryn Dodson
Kathryn Dodson, 96, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018 in Snyder. 
Funeral service for Mrs. Dodson will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 4-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Born on March 15, 1922 in Olden to E.W. and Allie (Brumlow) Griffin, she married Wayne N. Dodson in Odessa. He preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1993. She was a bookkeeper for Wayne Dodson Consultants and a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church. She also volunteered at Cogdell Memorial Hospital with the Ladies Auxiliary Pink Ladies.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Allie and E.W. Griffin, one son, Wayne W. Dodson, one daughter, Kay Burton, and one great-grandson, John David Chandler.
Survivors include one grandson, Jay Butler and his wife, Shonna, of Snyder; three granddaughters, Kim Minor and her husband, Jeff, of Snyder, Karen Van DeMark of Granbury and Teresa Archambo and her husband, Larry, of Wichita Falls; six great-grandchildren, Tanner Butler and his wife, Tamara, Jaysen Butler, Tye McLaughlin and his wife, Rachel, of Wichita Falls, Trey McLaughlin, Meggan Long and her husband, Bryan, of Snyder and Bailey Minor of Roscoe; and two great-great-grandchildren, Allison Butler and Owen McLaughlin.
