Loyce Hayes
1940-2018
Loyce Strickland Hayes, 78, of Snyder, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018.
Graveside service for Mrs. Hayes will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hillside Memorial Gardens. The service will be under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born on Sept. 9, 1940 in Phoenix, Ariz. to William and Ora (Williamson) Strickland, she married Billy Frank Hayes on Nov. 4, 1968 in Midland. Mrs. Hayes managed The Rustic Star since 2009.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her twin sister, Joyce Webber, and one brother, Hoyle Dean Strickland.
Survivors include one daughter, Debra Kay Davis and her husband, Randy, of Snyder; three nieces, Kathy Webber and Connie Webber, both of Snyder, and Karen Lloyd of Caddo Mills; two sisters, Mary Nell Beaver of Snyder and Jo Ann Everton of La Porte; two grandchildren, Stephanie Parham and her husband, Marcus, of Midland and Starla Gonzalez and her husband, Mario, of Snyder; five great-grandchildren, Keagan Parham of Montana, Major and Emma Parham, both of Midland, and Conner Reese and Katelynn Gonzalez, both of Snyder; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Genetha Payne
1933-2018
Genetha Payne, 85 of Snyder, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018 in Yoakum.
Funeral service for Mrs. Payne will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ben Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Snyder Cemetery. 
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born on April 2, 1933 in Clarendon to William McKinley and Luella (Gilespie) Hatfield, she married Robert Earl Payne on Aug. 29, 1964 in Snyder. He preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 2005. She worked for Furr’s Supermarket for more than 25 years and was also an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone for many years.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Flo Buchanan, and three brothers, Delma, Leslie and Dale Hatfield.
Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca Crook and her husband, David, of Buchanan Dam; two sons, Richard Payne of Georgetown and Alvin Neely of Snyder; one brother, John Henry Hatfield of Snyder; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
