Dean Eaton
Dean Edward Eaton, 56, was welcomed into Heaven suddenly on Friday, March 1, 2019.
Funeral service for Mr. Eaton will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Hermleigh with Pastor Alan Culp officiating. Burial will follow at Hermleigh Cemetery under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Dean was born to Arthur and Blythe (Averil) Eaton on Jan. 28, 1963 in Grant, Mich. He moved to Texas when he turned 18 to work in the oilfield. In 1988, he married the love of his life, Kathy Garret. They celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary last month. Dean was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Throughout his life, Dean had a strong work ethic and taught his kids about the importance of working hard. His entire career was spent in the oilfields of Texas, where he was known as one of the strongest men around. Dean was a handyman and always had his next project in line around the house. He spent much of his time helping his family however they needed it. There was nothing he had rather do than spend time with his kids and Kathy. Dean had a huge heart, was larger than life and loved his family more than anything else.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Linda Welch, and his brother, Doug Eaton.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; one daughter, Kassie Bolander and her husband, Ken, of Christoval; three sons, Danny Ray Eton, Nick Eaton and his wife, Danni, and Jeremy Eaton, all of Hermleigh; two brothers, Mike Eaton and his wife, Val, and Bruce Eaton, all of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two sisters, Pam Hardin and her husband, Randy, of White Sulphur Springs, Mont. and Annette Allen of Hesperia, Mich.; six grandchildren, Korbin, Reese and Camden and Stormy Elder, all of Hermleigh, and Kristen and Khloe Bolander, both of Christoval; one sister-in-law, Becky Craig and her husband, Darrell, of Snyder; one brother-in-law, Bernard Garrett and his wife, Melinda, of Bryan; and many nieces and nephews.

Millie Thompson
Amelia Millie Thompson, 75, of Snyder, died Saturday, March 2, 2019 at University Medical Center in Lubbock. 
Funeral service for Mrs. Thompson will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon John Bane  officiating. Burial will follow at Snyder Cemetery. 
A rosary will be held from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Born on April 7, 1943 in Snyder to Ramon Z. Castillo  and Faustina Sanchez, she married Billy Wayne Thompson on Dec. 15, 2001 in Snyder. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2005. Millie was an LVN at Cogdell Memorial Hospital for 25 years.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Helen Hall, Gloria Tercero and Dora Gonzales.
Survivors include one daughter, Cecelia Alonzo of Lubbock; one daughter/niece, Cordelia Tercero of Lubbock; one son, Manuel Franco of Odessa; four sisters, Josie Alvarez of Sunnyvale, Calif., Arlene Cortinez of Odessa and Margarita Rivera and Abelina Garcia and her husband, Felipe, all of Lubbock; two brothers, Fred Castillo and his wife, Maria, of Snyder and Manuel Castillo of Midland; and one granddaughter, Caitlin Alonzo of Lubbock.
