Mr. Gerald Ned Bullard, 72, of Snyder, died on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at his home in Snyder.
No services are planned at this time. He wished for his ashes to be scattered on the creek at his ranch.
Mr. Bullard was born on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 1945 in Roscoe to Jervis and Roberta (West) Bullard. He married Shirley Dyess on Dec. 23, 1965 in Snyder.
Mr. Bullard was a member of the Church of Christ. He also served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1965-1967. He was a life time member of the National Rifle Association. He worked in the oilfield for many years. He was a farmer and rancher and loved to raise cattle and chickens. He loved dogs and adopted many of them.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandparents, Ermer and Winnie Dever.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Bullard of Snyder, a son, Thomas Gregory Bullard and wife, Cheryl, of Snyder, a brother, Jerris Bullard and wife, Jaunita, of Manassa, Va., a brother-in-law, J.D. Dyess and wife, Toya, of Yantis and a step-granddaughter, Amy Warr of Snyder.
The family wants to thank Hospice members Rachel, Sherry, Priscilla and Kinney for the great care that they gave Gerald during his illness.

Laura Simpson, 56, of Lubbock, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Venue on Broadway in Lubbock. Arrangements are under the direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes of Lubbock.
Mrs. Simpson was born on Dec. 13, 1961 in Colorado City to Phil Fortune and Carolyn Buchanan House. She married Brent Simpson Aug. 31, 1996 in Abilene. She graduated from Snyder High School in 1980. Laura worked as a banking officer and deposit operations manager for People’s Bank.
She was a huge sports fanatic, especially Texas Tech, and spent every game day tailgating with friends and family. She lived a life of no regrets other than leaving her family behind.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn House; and grandparents, Fred Buchanan, Irene Bennet, Clyde Fortune and Ruth Lewis.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 22 years, Brent; children, Kacey Ortiz and her children Ryan Simpson and Abigail Simpson, and Kyle Johnson, all of Lubbock; her father, Phil and wife, Betty, of Graham and her children Greg, Stanley and Cynthia; her stepfather, Larry House and his children, Michael and Michelle; her siblings, Tracy Hopper and spouse, Chad Pinkerton, of Colorado City, and Carrie and husband, Bradley Roark, of Lubbock; her father-in-law, Richard Simpson; and several aunts and uncles.
