June 20 Obituary
Gregory P. Castillo, 73, of Lubbock, died Saturday, June 16, 2018.
Funeral service for Mr. Castillo will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Raj Arokiasamy officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Guajardo’s Funeral Chapel in Lubbock.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Castillo was born on Oct. 30, 1944 in Bastrop to Fedrico and Josefa Castillo. He served and dedicated his working years to the City of Snyder and Lubbock until his retirement. In his early years, he played a saxophone alongside his family in the band Los Del Kings. He not only took pride in his children’s accomplishments, but he truly enjoyed just being in their company for all celebrations of life. Mr. Castillo was a true and avid Dallas Cowboys fan. His smile was not only contagious, but loving and kind.
He was preceded in death by one son, Frankie Castillo; two brothers, Alejandro Castillo and Madaleno Castillo; and one great-grandson, Keltion Garza.
Survivors include four daughters, Lory Lozoya and her husband, Ramon, Virginia Del Toro and her husband, Israel, Sophia Morin and her husband, Alvin, and Priscilla Perez and her husband, Gilbert; two sons; Gregory Castillo Jr. and his wife, Eva, and Amos Castillo and his wife, Amanda; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary and her husband, Freddy, Alice and Lydia, all of Snyder; and two brothers, Freddy and his wife, Gloria, of Snyder and Eusebio Mirles and his wife, Gloria, of St. George Kan.
