David Davis
David Wright Davis, 73, of Snyder, died Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Goodlife Senior Living.
Memorial service for Mr. Davis will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at 37th Street Church of Christ with Bob Martin officiating. The service will be under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Dempsey Mayes
Dempsey Mayes, 90, of Snyder, died Friday, June 8, 2018. 
Graveside service, with full military honors, for Mr. Mayes will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene. The service will be under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Mayes was born on July 22, 1927 in Pleasanton to John and Ethye Mayes. Mr. Mayes served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951-55 and during the Korean War. He was also a deacon in the Baptist church. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Tommy Mayes; his twin brother, Sharky; four brothers, John, Jack, Bill and Howard; and two sisters, Ruby Wright and Louise Matthews.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Pansy Couch Mayes of Snyder; his children, Henry Mayes and his wife, Lana, of Paris, David Mayes and his wife, Penni, of Snyder, Randy Couch and his wife, Deana, of Abilene and Melissa Gooch of Brownwood; two daughters-in-law, Deborah Buxton and Kay Vincik; 19 grandchildren, Michael Mayes and his wife, Robyn, of Haslet, Justin Crawford and his wife, Erika, of Arizona, J.R. Mayes and his wife, Carmen, of Powderly, Sarah Swimm and her husband, Zach, of Paris, Jennifer Keesee and her husband, Shane, of Mustang, Okla., Jeremy Mayes of Oregon, Jason Mayes, Julie Kay Fowler and her husband, Mitch, Colton Couch and his wife, Kayla, Brandy Hoffman and her husband, Kevin, and Buffi Lake, all of Abilene, Brittany Herrera and her husband, Randy, Jonathan Mayes and his wife, Amanda, Tyler Mayes and Joshua Mayes, all of Snyder, Maegan Clark and her husband, Rocky, of Arlington, Kenny Baker and his wife, Charlene, of New York and Ashley Ledbetter and her husband, Chad, and Tim Snyder, all of Missouri; 35 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dennis Vaughan
Dennis Dale Vaughan, 59, died Sunday, June 10, 2018 in Snyder.
Memorial service for Mr. Vaughan will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry McAden officiating. The Rev. Steve Highfield will assist. The service will be under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born on July 29, 1958 in Malvern, Ark. to Robert and Bobbie (Cagle) Vaughan, he married Sherry Williams on Dec. 2, 1995 in Snyder. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and hunting,  
He was preceded in death by his father; one son, Aaron Vaughan; and two sisters, Starlett Bailey and Barbara Ann Vaughan.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Vaughan of Snyder; one daughter, Michelle Van Oordt, of Fort Collins, Colo.; one son, Daniel Vaughan of Fort Collins, Colo.; two stepsons, Shane Ballard and his wife, Tiffany, of Wichita Falls and Shannon Ballard and his wife, Ella, of Dallas; seven grandchildren; his mother, Bobbie Vaughan of Snyder; one brother, Gayland Vaughan and his wife, Debbie, of Snyder; two sisters, Bonnie McDorman of Snyder and Velda Waliky and her husband, Bob, of Kerrville; one sister-in-law, Debra Collins of Snyder; and several nieces and nephews.
