Joe Bob Sartain, 67, of Snyder, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in Snyder after a lengthy illness.
A memorial service for Mr. Sartain will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with Jason Chapman officiating.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Joe was born on Feb. 11, 1952 in Slaton to Robert Clyde Sartain and JoAnn Buchanan Sartain, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Brownfield High School. Joe worked in the oilfield for 50 years. His work took him all over the world, and he had stories from every place he worked. He was the United States technical training manager for Packers Plus in Houston until his retirement in 2015. After his retirement, he started Poppa’s Kettle Corn. He dearly loved people and telling them stories. Joe never met a stranger.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Brenda; three children, Amy Sartain, Emily Wasson and her husband, Donald, and Joseph Mark Sartain and his wife, Lisa, all of Snyder; two stepdaughters, Rebecca Cleere of Granbury and Audra Cullison and her husband, Todd, of Odessa; two sisters and one brother, Robbie Caviness and her husband, Bob, of El Dorado, Ark., Kathy Johnson and her husband, Billy, of Austin, Ark. and Mike Sartain of Lubbock; his grandchildren, Ashliegh Sartain, Lily Sartain, Grace Sartain, Kylie Sartain, Zachary Carter, Jacob Wasson, Reese Wasson, Allison Brunner, Quiton Cullison, Caleb Womack and Ashley Ray; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial may be made to Joe’s favorite charity, St. Jude’s. He had a special place in his heart for children.
