Feb. 6 Obituaries
Manuela “Nellie” Medrano, 81, of Snyder, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2019.
Funeral service for Mrs. Medrano will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Snyder.
Nellie was born on Dec. 25, 1937 in Dickens County. Nellie married Cayetano Medrano on March 26, 1955. They were married for 51 years. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on June 29, 1968. She worked as a cook for many years. When she retired, the field ministry was her joy and passion. Her love for Jehovah was evident every time you talked with her. She loved reading God’s Word, the Bible. Two of her favorite Scriptures were Revelations 21:4 and 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. Eventually, due to health reasons, she was unable to attend the meetings, but she rarely missed listening in to the meetings. In fact, she was listening to the meeting three days before she passed. She will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cayetano, one son, Jessie, and one grandson, Jared Anjel Medrano.
Those left to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Juanita Medrano of Snyder, Mary Jaramillo and her husband, Joe, of Albuquerque, N.M., Elida Riggins and her husband, Tyrone, of Abilene and Reta Medrano; three sons, Raymond and his wife, Rene, Joe Medrano and Robert Medrano, all of Snyder; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
