The Retired Teachers Association will meet at noon Monday
at The Shack. Officers will be installed.
UW board meeting
The Scurry County United Way board will meet at noon
Monday at 2311 Ave. T.
Bible study tapes
Bible videos air each week on Channel 2. To be shown at 7
p.m. Monday is Our Search for Jesus, followed by Character Counts.
American Legion auxiliary
The American Legion auxiliary will hold election of
officers at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the post home.
Retirement reception
A retirement reception to honor Janie Carroll, Kenneth
Parker and Lee Presswood will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the East
Elementary library.
AA meeting
An AA meeting is held at noon every Tuesday and Friday at
the Witherspoon house next door to the First Presbyterian Church. The meeting is
non-smoking and closed. For more information, call 574-2656, or 207-1325.
Class of 64 addresses needed
Addresses are needed for the SHS Class of 1964. Contact
Ann Evertt at 573-3270.
Medical fund
A medical fund has been established at First American
Bank to assist the Mauldin family of Ira Claude, Pam and Leeja who are
undergoing medical treatment and evaluation in Houston for illnesses associated with toxic
spores. Funds are needed for transportation, housing and medical expenses in Houston.
Funds also may be donated through Pastor Rocky Alexander of Ira Church of God.
Cancer treatment transportation
Transportation for cancer patients to Lubbock, Abilene or
Midland is available free of charge. Call Sammie Jarrell at 573-5993 or Blakey Fargason at
574-8041. If not home, leave message.
Whats up guidelines
Items for Whats Up will be published twice at no
charge, the day before and the day of the event. Events or activities requiring additional
publicity will be referred to the advertising department where a special non-profit rate
is available.
