Snyder Junior High School choir students wowed the judges at the March 24 UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest hosted by Wayland Baptist University in Plainview.
The boys choir captured sweepstakes after garnering a first division rating in both concert and sight-reading. Marci Dennis, choir director, said all six judges gave the boys a first division rating.
Only three of 30 choirs won sweepstakes.
The girls’ choir received a first division rating in concert and a second division rating in sight-reading.
Dennis said only seven of 30 choirs received the first division rating.
