A full week of activities begins Monday at Cogdell Memorial Hospital as the 50-bed celebrates National Hospital Week.

Monday also will make the first day on the job for Carol Hanes, the hospital’s new chief executive officer.

Hanes is coming from the Memorial Hospital in Linden and was the unanimous choice by the Cogdell hospital board.

The public is invited to meet the hospital’s new CEO at the come-and-go reception from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Martha Ann Woman’s Club.

An employee awards banquet will be from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, also at the Martha Ann Woman’s Club. Numerous awards for years of service will be presented at the Tuesday event.

Wednesday afternoon Cogdell will host a health fair at the from 1-6 p.m., and an open house of the assisted-living floor also will be held at the same time.

Registration for the health fair will be in the front lobby of the new entrance.

The hospital will show case its many services to the community through various displays throughout the facility to include the emergency department, radiology, OB, pharmacy, lab, rural health clinic, Cogdell Rehab and Cogdell Home Health.

Other departments with displays will be the dietary, mammography and day surgery departments, plus respiratory therapy.

Several businesses and agencies also will have information booths at the fair.

These include Texas Department of Transportation, DPS, Snyder Police Department, Snyder EMS, Scurry County Sheriff’s Department, Critical Air, Snyder Chiropractic, CADA, Child Protective Services, Rivercrest Hospital, Snyder Oaks Care Center, Home Medical Supply, Home Hospice and Barbee Medical Supply.

Others include Odyssey Hospice, Curves, WIC, Abilene Psychiatric Hospital, Snyder Healthcare Center, United Blood Services and Friends in Action.

Others include West Central Texas Council of Government – Area on Aging, Semper Care Hospital, Elite Fitness, Snyder Child Day Care, SPARTAN, Gateway Family Services, Texas Rehab, Wal-Mart and Shannon Behavioral Center.
