Joy Keller
1927-2004
Joy Fay Keller, a life-long resident of Scurry County,
died Sunday, May 2, at her home in Snyder after a sudden illness.
Service for Mrs. Keller, 76, is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday
in Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Phillips, pastor, officiating. Burial will
follow in Snyder Cemetery and arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale
Funeral Home.
Born Oct. 6, 1927 in Snyder, she grew up in the Hermleigh
area and was a 1945 graduate of Hermleigh High School where she was an all-state guard on
the HHS basketball team that played in the state championship game.
She married Raymond Keller on July 31, 1948 in Snyder.
Mrs. Keller had worked for Clark Propane for more than 20
years and also had worked for J.C. Penney and for Stinson Drug. Mrs. Keller also was a
longtime secretary for Northside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Wade Keller
on April 2, 1952.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Keller of Snyder;
two sons, Barry Dean Keller of Snyder and Randall Max Keller of Brownwood; three sisters,
Jean Blackwell, Geraldine Greene and Connie Green, all of Snyder; two grandsons, Mark Alen
Keller and Joshua Ryan Keller, both of Snyder; and a step granddaughter, Nicole Dabney.
The family suggests memorials to the Northside Baptist
Church, 1909 26th Street in Snyder.
Mrs. Ainsworth
1910-2004
Maybelle Ainsworth, longtime Scurry County resident, died
Sunday, May 2, in Snyder Oaks Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Funeral service for Mrs. Ainsworth, 93, is set for 2 p.m.
Friday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Fluvanna
Cemetery.
Born Nov. 27, 1910 in Wood County, she was married to
Lloyd Ainsworth who died May 11, 2003.
A homemaker, Mrs. Ainsworth was a longtime Fluvanna area
resident.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ellen
Keith, on Jan. 13, 1999; two brothers, Bill and J.C. Tucker; and a sister, Janelle Nanny.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Kerrie Keith and
Chad Keith, both of Austin; and a sister, Margarette Jacobs of Odessa.
Mildred Clark
1924-2004
Mildred Yvonne Clark, a former Snyder resident, died
Sunday, May 2, in Park Plaza Nursing Home in San Angelo after a lengthy illness.
Funeral service for Mrs. Clark, 79, is set for 11 a.m.
Thursday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Karen Schmeltekopf,
associate minister of the First Christian Church in San Angelo, officiating. Burial will
follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens and arrangements are under the direction of
Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Born Dec. 11, 1924 in Fort Worth, she married Oren Clark
on Nov. 4, 1944 in Fort Worth. He died May 31, 1991.
A homemaker, Mrs. Clark had been a resident of Snyder
since 1929. A member of Snyders First Christian Church, Mrs. Clark was a homemaker
and had worked as a ward clerk at Cogdell Hospital for about 10 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Sarah Schulz of San
Angelo, Sandra Davis of Midland and Susan Nichols of San Leandro, Calif.; a sister-in-law,
Mickey Clark of Austin; five grandchildren, Paul Nicholas Schulz of San Angelo, Stacy
Michelle Schulz of Two Rivers, Wisc., Wes Davis of Phenix City, Ala., Casey Davis of Green
Wells, La., and Kenny Davis of Lubbock; two great-grandchildren, Brianna Valadez and
Jeanette Davis.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at
Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Lavada Jones
1920-2004
Lavada Jones, 83, of Colorado City died Thursday, April
29, in Mitchell County Hospital.
Service is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the House of Hope
Community Church in Colorado City under the direction of Wright Colonial Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Mitchell County Cemetery with
the Revs. Floyd Green of Colorado City and Raymond Dunkins of New Hope Baptist Church in
Snyder, officiating.
Born on Nov. 6, 1920 in Winona, Texas, she married Walter
Jones in 1981 in Midland. He died April 1, 1982.
Survivors include a niece, Florence Harris of Corona,
Calif.; a nephew, Edward Hamilton of Houston; 20 grandchildren; and several
great-grandchildren.
Family visitation is set for 7-8 this evening at Wright
Colonial Funeral Home.
Charles Davis
1908-2004
KEENE -- Charles A. Davis, father of the late Norma Sue
Greenlee, died Friday, April 30, in a Keene hospital.
Funeral service for Mr. Davis, 95, was held this morning
in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Burleson. Burial followed in Laurel Land
Memorial Park.
Born Oct. 30, 1908 in Wichita, Kan., Mr. Davis was a
retired welder.
Survivors include his wife, Cordelia R. Davis of Keene; a
daughter, Charlene A. Thompson of Burleson; four grandchildren, including Garry Greenlee
and Susan Pinkerton of Snyder; five great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
