The Tigers tapped into their power supply Saturday, getting a three-run homer from Eric Martinez in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally past Post, 9-7, in a practice game.

The Tigers (20-4, 9-1) also got a two-run bomb from Isaac Ramon in the victory.

Dustyn William pitched three innings at the start, Ryan Mitchell pitched the fourth and fifth frames, and Lico Castillo recorded the final six outs and earned the vicotry.

“We played good, and our defense turned double plays,” head coach Charles Bollinger said, adding that the team came on late after a sluggish start.

“The main thing for these guys is confidence -- these guys believe they can always come back. We’re ready to play for real,” he said.

Bollinger said he was in the process of trying to secure a practice game with La Grange, the top-ranked team in Texas, after a game with Estacado fell through.

The Tigers will face the winner of Muleshoe and Amarillo River Road in the area round of the playoffs.
