Raymond House
1913-2004
Raymond Harvey House, longtime Snyder resident, died
Friday, April 30, in Cogdell Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Service for Mr. House, 91, is set for 2 p.m. Monday at
Trinity United Methodist Church. The Revs. James Merrill and Tom Woodward will officiate.
Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction Bell-Cypert-Seale
Funeral Home.
Born on Jan. 28, 1913 in Miami, Texas, he married Erma
Pauline Gatlin on Oct. 27, 1934 in Snyder. She died April 11, 2001. Mr. House was a farmer
and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday school
superintendent for over 30 years. He also was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Scurry
Lodge 706.
Three sisters, Ethel Watson, Ruby Andrew and Opel
Marriott, and one brother, Melvin House, preceded him in death.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry
and Carolyn House, Jerry and Reta House, all of Snyder, and Milton and Patsy House of
Odessa; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Family visitation is from 7-8 p.m. Sunday at
Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Lavada Jones
1920-2004
Lavada Jones, 83, of Colorado City died Thursday, April
29, in Mitchell County Hospital.
Service is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the House of Hope
Community Church in Colorado City under the direction of Wright Colonial Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Mitchell County Cemetery with
the Revs. Floyd Green of Colorado City and Raymond Dunkins of New Hope Baptist Church in
Snyder, officiating.
Born on Nov. 6, 1920 in Winona, Texas, she married Walter
Jones in 1981 in Midland. He died April 1, 1982.
Survivors include a niece, Florence Harris of Corona,
Calif.; a nephew, Edward Hamilton of Houston; 20 grandchildren; and several
great-grandchildren.
Family visitation is set for 7-8 p.m. Monday at Wright
Colonial Funeral Home.
