A 40-year-old Odessa man will now serve three years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice following a probation revocation hearing Monday in 132nd District Court.
Michael Hugh McKerns was serving a five-year probated prison sentence for a June 27, 1998 driving while intoxicated offense in Scurry County.
McKerns failed to report to probation officers and make monthly installments and did not participate in a court-ordered drug and alcohol treatment program.
District Judge Ernie Armstrong revoked the probated sentence and ordered McKerns to serve three years.
Also on Monday, Walter Lance Gilbreath, 26, of Monahans pleaded guilty to a Sept. 25, 2003 charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Gilbreath was assessed a two year term in a TDCJ state jail division, probated for five years. He also was fined $1,000.
