The Snyder Tigers host the Denver City Mustangs at 7 tonight, looking to get back into a rhythm offensively after a tough win over Lamesa Friday.
Denver City is coming off an embarrassing, 24-0, shelling at the hands of Sweetwater. Only five of Sweetwater’s 24 runs were earned, as Denver City committed eight errors and struck out 10 times against Kendall Carrillo.
Sweetwater batted around twice in the fourth inning.
For the Tigers, Friday night served as a wake-up call to the rest of 3-3A that Lamesa will not be an easy mark this year. Despite a complete-game four-hitter from Ty Collier, Lamesa hung around until Bradley Price broke a 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth on a two-out RBI single to secure the 4-2 win. Ryan Mitchell will get the start tonight.
The Lady Tigers try to stay undefeated in district play today when they open the second half of the district schedule at 5 today against the Merkel Lady Badgers at Cates Field.
Snyder is a game up on Lubbock Cooper with five remaining.
