A.C. Morton
1916-2004
WINK -- Allen Calvin “A.C.” Morton, father of
Toby Morton of Snyder, died Saturday, March 27, in Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Service for Mr. Morton, 87, is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday in
the First Baptist Church in Wink with Gary Redwine officiating. Interment will follow in
the Kermit Cemetery.
Born Nov. 5, 1916 in Eastland, he married Lova Genee
Newell on Dec. 5, 1936 in Eastland. Mr. Morton, a cowboy, supported Wink athletics and the
Winkler County 4-H Club and was a past member of the Odd Fellows.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tobe and Nevada
Morton; one brother, Raleigh O. Morton; two sisters, Gladys Hensley and Lila Lena Graham;
and one grandson, Brett Morton.
Survivors include his wife, Lova Genee Morton of Wink;
two other sons, Allen Morton of Stockton, Mo., and Raleigh Morton of Wink; one daughter,
Helen Voyles of Wink; two sisters, Folia Mae Jarrett and Celia Ray Beck, both of Eastland;
a daughter-in-law Dianne Morton of Snyder; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and
one great-great-grandchild.
