Western Texas College was swept by conference-leading El Paso Community College Friday, getting no-hit in the 4-0 loss in the opener.
El Paso’s Ricardo Rivas gave up two walks and did not allow a hit in seven innings of work against the Westerners, who fell to 2-12 in conference play and 7-26 overall.
Westerner starter Logan Hill allowed four runs in 6 1-3 innings. He was pulled in the seventh with WTC trailing, 2-0. Reliever Hank Casey gave up a walk and a bases loaded single to make it 4-0.
“We should be doing better than we are,” Hill said. “We’re better than our record.”
The Westerners dropped the second tilt, 9-0.
The teams were slated for another doubleheader Saturday at noon at the WTC complex.
