A contract for the newly-hired Cogdell Memorial Hospital administrator, Carol Hanes, will be prepared Monday by County Attorney Mike Hartman and hospital board chairman Dink Foree.
It is expected Hanes will have the contract signed and back in Snyder before the first of April, Foree said.
The chairman said Hanes’ first day on the job will be May 10.
Hanes was selected Wednesday morning by the board of managers for the post from an original list of some two dozen resumes provided by the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals.
The vote to hire Hanes was unanimous. “The 6-0 vote is certainly a good vote of confidence,” Hanes observed. “Cogdell Memorial Hospital is a beautiful hospital in a very nice town.”
The new CEO also spoke highly of the medical equipment in the hospital.
“It’s wonderfully equipped. Snyder should be very proud of the hospital and that it is part of the community.
“I am looking forward to working with the medical and hospital staff, plus the board, to make Cogdell the hospital the place to go for treatment.”
Hanes also said news travels fast in Snyder. “I’ve already had a call from a real estate agent.”
Hanes has two adult children. Robert Milam lives in Kansas City, Mo., while her daughter, Kimberly Ann McFadden and her husband, Heath, reside in Rowlett. The couple has a four-year-old daughter and is expecting a son to be born around the first of May.
“That’s why I can’t be here on the first (of May),” she told board chairman Foree. “Aiden Heath McFadden is due to arrive on May 4.”
Hanes is engaged to be married to John Ford who is soon to retire from the State of Texas.
