Coy Tucker

1908-2004

SEAGRAVES -- Coy Tucker, father of Dixie Brooks of Snyder, died Wednesday, March 24, in Seminole.

Service for Mr. Tucker, 95, is set for 2 p.m. Friday in the Avenue D. Church of Christ. B.W. Baucum and Andrew Purcella will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gaines County Cemetery in Seagraves under the direction of Mark A. Jones Funeral Directors.

Born to the late Jess and Ethel Tucker on Sept. 12, 1908 in Montague County, he moved from Cedar Lake to Seagraves in 1942.

Mr. Tucker had owned and operated Gulf service stations for 15 years and also had worked at Seagraves Auto Parts, Connally’s Funeral Home and he retired from the oilfield industry in 1990 where he worked as a driller and pumper. He married Audra DeYoung on Sept. 26, 1931 in Tipton, Okla.

He also was preceded in death by six brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Audra Tucker of the home; one brother, Odell Tucker of Wichita Falls; one sister, Freeda Edwards of Tipton; and a son-in-law, Martin Brooks of Snyder.
