Snyder officers are investigating an incident of a counterfeit $100 bill that was passed to a clerk at Town and Country east earlier today.

The bill, actually made on a copy machine, was passed to the clerk by two women at around 4:45 a.m. However, Snyder Police Sgt. Keith Ward does not believe that other area businesses have reason for concern.

“This was a very, very bad counterfeit,” said Sgt. Ward. “This was by no means a good-looking bill. The incident is still under investigation, but there’s no reason to be concerned about a counterfeiting ring in the area.”

Anyone with information may contact the Snyder police department at 573-2611 or the Scurry County sheriff’s department at 573-3551.
