Cogdell Memorial Hospital board of managers has one more interview scheduled, and board chairman Dink Foree said today that the board hopes to name a new chief executive officer selected by early next week.

The board met Saturday for the second time with Carol Hanes of Linden. It was Hanes second interview and also included a meal with the board.

At 6:30 p.m. March 23, the board will re-interview Comanche Hospital administrator Evan Moore.

The CEO’s position at Cogdell has been vacant since November when the Cogdell board ended its 15-year affiliation with Covenant Health Systems of Lubbock. Since that time Cheryl Chance, director of nursing, has served as acting hospital administrator.

Foree also said today that the physician’s assistant approved at last month’s board meeting has since turned down the offer.

Scott Gordon of Fritch was offered the vacant position to practice in the hospital’s Rural Health Clinic.

Present for the session Saturday were Foree, Terry Williams, Dr. Charles Church and Bo Robinson. Absent were Wade Warren and Mark Cullifer.
