Nora Gray

1916-2004

Nora Juanita Gray, 87, died Friday, March 12, in Cogdell Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service for Mrs. Gray is set for 2 p.m. Monday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Charles Day, pastor of the Ave. D Baptist Church, will officiate and interment will follow in the Snyder Cemetery.

Born Oct. 14, 1916 in Matador, she married C.D. Gray Sr. on May 30, 1964 in Snyder. He died March 28, 2001.

Mrs. Gray was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Charlie Rhodes; and one step granddaughter, Becky Porter.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Diana Williamson of Snyder and Gene Williamson of Elizabeth, Colo.; five grandchildren, Tammy Miller, DeWayne Williamson, both of Lubbock, and Jeff, Lance and Chandler Williamson, all of Colorado; two stepsons, C.D. Gray and Don Gray, both of Snyder; six great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family visitation will be from 5-6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 1300 E. FM 700 in Big Spring, 79720.

 


Mary Westbrook

1941-2004

STEPHENVILLE -- Mary Ann Westbrook, the sister-in-law of Frank and Carol Miller of Snyder, died Friday, March 12, in a Dallas hospital.

Funeral service for Mrs. Westbrook, 62, is set for 10 a.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Emil Becker officiating. Graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Miles Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lacy Funeral Home.

Born Sept. 17, 1941 in Tom Green County, she married Stanley Westbrook on Nov. 12, 1959 in Clovis, N.M.

Mrs. Westbrook was retired from Tarleton State University after serving as librarian for 24 years. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi, an alumni member of Alpha Gamma Delta and a member of the First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Flora Key Arrott; and a sister, Nancy Arrott.

Survivors include a husband, Stanley Westbrook of Stephenville; a son, Jason Westbrook of Stephenville; three daughters, Amy Dillon of Austin, Ange Wilkins of Pflugerville, Andrea Westbrook of Corinth; her father, J.E. Arrott of Orient; a brother, Jimmy Arrott of Ozona; and six grandchildren.

 


Herminia Arellano

1911-2004

Herminia Arellano died Saturday, March 13, at her home in Hermleigh.

Services for Mrs. Arellano, 92, are pending at Wright Colonial Funeral Home.

Born Oct. 31, 1911 in Waco, she married Jose Arellano on June 6, 1931 in Banquete, Texas. He died in 1976.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, Concepcion and Jesus Garza; a son, Eduardo Arellano in 1968; a daughter-in-law, Beatrice Arellano in 1974; an infant son, Juan Jose Arellano in 1932; a great-great-grandson, Jimmy Luna Jr. in 2003; and three brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Elida “Lillie” and Albento Conde of Hermleigh, and Minerva and Ruben Trevino of Banquete; a special grandson who lived with her, Eduardo “Eddie“ Arellano Jr. of Hermleigh; a sister, Fransisca Salinas of Troy; seven other grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
