Joe Hefner, executive director of the USDA Farm Service Agency, reminds producers of two Monday deadlines.

One is to purchase crop insurance for most cotton and grain sorghum to be planted in the county. Producers can call the FSA for a list of agents.

Also, Monday is the final date to purchase NAP (Noninsured Assistance Crop Disaster Protection) for forage sorghum crops.

Hefner said NAP provides a guaranteed level of protection against weather disasters for non-insurance crops.

There is a $100 fee per crop up to $300 per county, not to exceed $900 per producer. Only non-insurable crops are eligible for NAP coverage.
