LaRue Hyatt
1928-2004
LaRue Hyatt, longtime resident of Snyder, died Tuesday,
March 9, at her home in Snyder.
Funeral service for Mrs. Hyatt, 75, is set for 10 a.m.
Friday in the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry McAden, pastor, officiating.
Assisting will be Brian Fairchild, pastor of Colonial Bible Church in Midland and Mrs.
Hyatts grandson. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens and arrangements
are under the direction of Wright Colonial Funeral Home.
Born April 17, 1928 in Wichita Falls, she married Charles
Robert Hyatt on Aug. 10, 1946 in Olney. He died April 10, 1982.
A homemaker, Mrs. Hyatt was a member of Calvary Baptist
Church and did ironing for the public for several years.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha
and Pat Fairchild of Midland and Debbie and Monty Wheeler of Bedford; a sister, Geraldine
Dalrymple of Olney; a brother, Jim Johnson of Wichita Falls; and three other
grandchildren, Beau McLeod of Arlington, Cole McLeod of Abilene and Jenni Fairchild of
Midland.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 this evening at
Wright Colonial Funeral Home.
Yank Hildreth
1911-2004
MIDLAND -- Lawrence E. Yank Hildreth Sr.,
father of Larry Hildreth of Snyder, died Sunday, March 7.
A memorial service for Mr. Hildreth, 92, has been
scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Oscar Bejil officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
He was born on Sept. 10, 1911 to Fred and Mary Gates
Hildreth in Sudbury, Mass., and he was reared and educated there.
Mr. Hildreth moved to Snyder in the 1950s and later to
Big Spring. Prior to his retirement, he worked for I&R Meter Service. Mr. Hildreth was
a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Snyder.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret
Louise Pickett in 1962.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Hildreth of Big
Spring; two other sons, Edward L. Hildreth and Paul B. Hildreth; and a daughter, Carol
Cothran; three stepchildren, Phyllis Sutter, Alton Sutter and Johnny Sutter; 17
grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Truman Davis
1922-2004
MIDLAND -- Truman C. Davis, a native of Ira, died
Wednesday, March 10, in Midland.
Service for Mr. Davis, 81, is set for 2 p.m. Saturday in
the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel. Don Mitchell will officiate.
Born May 30, 1922 in Ira, he was reared in Snyder and
attended Snyder High School. He married Evelene Tamplin on March 6, 1942 in Snyder. Mr.
Davis was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul M. and
Maudie Davis; and a brother, Raymond Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Evelene Davis of Midland; a
son and daughter-in-law, Marlin Gene and Floy Davis of Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters and
a son-in-law, Kathy J. Phillips of Midland and Linda Sue and Max Moreland of Bosque Farms,
N.M.; a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and J.C. Wall of Big Spring; five
grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Family visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday at the
funeral home.

Tommy Beene
1916-2004
McKINNEY -- Tommy H. Beene, a former coach and teacher in
Snyder, died Sunday, March 7, in Georgetown.
Services for Mr. Beene, 87, were held Wednesday in
McKinney and interment followed in Ridgeview Memorial Park.
Born June 5, 1916 in Roby, he married Helen Broadwell on
July 20, 1941 in Roscoe. He began his career in education in the early 1940s and also
worked in Aspermont, Anson and Odessa.
He was a Mason and a member of the Second Baptist Church
in Odessa. In 1984, Mr. Beene was inducted into the Texas Tennis Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Beene of McKinney; a
daughter Sharon Beavers of Spring; a son, Mike Beene of McKinney; four sisters, Nell
Humphries of Edgewood, Dean Sansing of Mineola, Helyn Rinks of Edgewood and Lou Kerby of
Austin; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
