The recent increase in criminal activity, specifically thefts, in and around Snyder, has prompted law enforcement officials to ask citizens to be more alert of possible illegal activities.
As such, the Scurry County sheriff’s office is seeking information on a theft that occurred Monday.
“This is an unfortunate situation and I’d really like to see it resolved,” said Scurry County deputy Kevin Roemisch.
Roemisch said shortly after 3:30 p.m. Monday Marion Becerra requested a deputy at a farm field in the 1300 block of N. College Ave., approximately a half mile north of the city limits behind RichCo.
A Miller brand portable welder, cutting torch head, 10” crescent wrench and a blue plastic container had been stolen along with the trailer on which the welder was mounted.
“If the public has any information, or saw anything in the area at around 3:30 p.m. Monday, we would appreciate it if they would contact the sheriff’s department at 573-3551,” said Roemisch.
