The recent increase in criminal activity, specifically thefts, in and around Snyder, has prompted law enforcement officials to ask citizens to be more alert of possible illegal activities. <p></b></i></u>
As such, the Scurry County sheriff’s office is seeking information on a theft that occurred Monday. <p></b></i></u>
“This is an unfortunate situation and I’d really like to see it resolved,” said Scurry County deputy Kevin Roemisch. <p></b></i></u>
Roemisch said shortly after 3:30 p.m. Monday Marion Becerra requested a deputy at a farm field in the 1300 block of N. College Ave., approximately a half mile north of the city limits behind RichCo.<p></b></i></u>
A Miller brand portable welder, cutting torch head, 10” crescent wrench and a blue plastic container had been stolen along with the trailer on which the welder was mounted. <p></b></i></u>
“If the public has any information, or saw anything in the area at around 3:30 p.m. Monday, we would appreciate it if they would contact the sheriff’s department at 573-3551,” said Roemisch. </b></u></i><P ALIGN LEFT><hr>
