Strong winds and blowing dirt contributed for a massive pile-up on U.S. 84 northwest of Post on Thursday.
The accident involved as many as 31 vehicles and claimed two casualties and numerous injuries, some critical.
United Blood Services of Lubbock was at a critically low level prior to the pileup, and the supply has now dropped even more.
The First United Methodist Church will hold a blood drive from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Sunday to help replenish the blood supply. The drive will be in the mobile coach located outside the Power House near the church.
United Blood Services is asking all eligible donors to donate. Potential donors must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health and have valid identification.
