The 10th-ranked Lady Tigers will play Perryton in the area round Friday, after the Lady Rangers topped Littlefield, 54-50, in overtime Tuesday.

Head coach Mike Martin said Perryton, the third-place team in District 1, will try to use its size to its advantage.

He said Perryton is comparable to Sweetwater, and relies on a pressure zone defense.

“They will try to use their height,” he said. “They rebound extremely well. We will have to do a great job on the boards.”

The teams will square off at 7 p.m. Friday at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview.

Sweetwater and third-ranked Muleshoe battle at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Post, while Denver City and number one Canyon are set to play Thursday at Lubbock Christian (time to be determined) in a match- up between potential quarterfinals opponents for the Lady Tigers.
