The Snyder JV softball team got a good start to the season Tuesday, rolling over Kermit, 30-2, in three innings.

Snyder banged out 11 hits and took advantage of 27 walks and numerous passed balls by Kermit.

Tara Sullenger got the start, going all three innings while striking out three and walking two.

Amber Luecke smashed a triple and a single and Jessica Calvert, Kendra Birks and Joshlyn Tovar each added a pir of base knocks.

Tera Robertson and Kassey Nurney each smacked a single.

JV coach Laura Moses said the team got a chance to work on base running, plate discipline and several other areas in the blowout win.

“It was a good outing,” she said.

The varsity Lady Tigers get their season underway Friday in the Copperas Cove Tournament.
