The eighth-grade A girls ended the season on a strong note Monday, topping Sweetwater 35-15. The team finished with a 12-5 record.
Audrey Jones canned a game-high 22 and collected seven rebounds, Jordan Derryberry hit for nine and Allison Sharrock and Devin Davidson each contributed two points.
“The season was very successful and I feel like these girls will be very promising as a freshman squad next year,” coach Canita Rhodes said.
The seventh-grade A team also whipped Sweetwater, 43-13.
Brittney Mitchell led all players with 11 points, Shaquita Sneed drained 10 and Briana Bryant added six in the win.
Jessica Bilderback, Erma Rodriguez, Brittney Webb and Teryn Sullenger each added four. Veronica Solano also contributed with timely rebounds and steals.
“The girls worked hard and had a good season. I am proud of them,” said coach Julie Wilson.
Both the B clubs topped Sweetwater Monday.
The eighth-graders got eight points from Jessica DeLeon and Heather Garza in a 28-23 victory.
The seventh-grade squad cruised past their Sweetwaer counterparts, 20-7.
Lareshia Casey had nine points, Mariah Robbins added three and Ryanna Alexander canned two.
“The girls had a great season and I am very proud of them,” coach Halea Huestis said.
