Snyder High School named its royalty for the 2003-2004 school year today as seniors Sterling Millhollon and Kelsi Johnson were crowned in ceremonies at Worsham Auditorium.
Millhollon, Mr. SHS, has participated in drama for four years and in the band for four years earning a trip to the state solo-ensemble meet each year. He is competing for the state honor band this week. He has received numerous honors with the UIL all-region bands.
Millhollon is on the varsity tennis team this year and has participated in the national Youth Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. He is the son of Jerry and Martha Millhollon.
Miss SHS, the daughter of Tommy and Vicki Johnson, has played volleyball and softball all four years in high school.
She served as the captain of this year’s volleyball team and was named defensive MVP her junior year and this year in all-district selections.
She also was the SHS homecoming queen for this year.
Other nominees for Mr. SHS were Blake Grimmett, Boicy Martinez, Bradley Price and Lee Scott. Other nominees for Miss SHS were Ashlye Amox, Erin Burleson, Kelby Drum and Misha Wofford.
Also recognized class favorites.
Senior class favorites are Kelsi Johnson and Clayton Floyd, while junior class favorites are Samantha Moyers and Israel Torrez.
Sophomore favorites are Temi Thompson and Steven Martinez, while freshman favorites are Whitley Fulford and Corbin Smith.
Sweethearts recognized were Stephanie Williams, band; Gerrico Greenlee, baseball; Katie Haggard, boys basketball; Brock Tyrrell, girls basketball; Jeff Scott, cheeerleaders; Sarah Crawford, choir; Erin Burleson and Arthur Hernandez, cross country; Sharena Lewis and Anthony Perez, DECA; Blake Robertson and Coleman Welch, drama; Pasha Porysev and Aurelie Semillon, exchange students; and Anna Henson and Josh Kemp, Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
