The Snyder freshmen girls scored a resounding victory in their season finale Monday, running roughshod over Sweetwater, 54-12.
The freshmen, who finished the year at 15-7 overall and 8-4 in district, got double-digit scoring from three players in the rout.
Brianna Bernal canned 14, Desiree Cortez hit for 13 and Candace Chandler added 12.
Kaitlyn Greenlee and Courtney Tyrrell contributed six apiece and Ashley Pavlovsky drained three.
“I feel like the girls had a good season, especially with three girls moving up. We played well and improved as the season went along,” coach Todd Pollard said.
The freshmen boys fell, 59-47, despite four three-pointers from Ricky Sanchez, who paced the Tigers with 13 points.
“We lost the intensity we’ve had for the last three games, although our outside shooting improved,” coach Joe Anaya said.
Ryan Mitchell added 10 points, Tagaba Kyei knocked in eight and Michael Martinez canned two for the frosh, who close out the season at 6:30 p.m. Friday at home against Denver City.
