Marie Stanfield
1926-2004
Reva Marie Stanfield of Snyder died Friday, Feb. 6, in
Cogdell Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Services for Mrs. Stanfield, 77, are pending at
Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Born Aug. 10, 1926 in Saline County, Mo., to William and
Mary LaRose, she married Robert Lee Bob Stanfield on Aug. 20, 1948. They
resided in Marshall, Mo., prior to making their home in Snyder where they were partners
with John and Evelyn Thomas in the Chrysler Plymouth Dodge and Honda motorcycle
dealership.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; one
sister, Wilma Bryan; and two brothers, Warren and Paul LaRose.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Stanfield of Snyder;
two sons, Bruce Stanfield of Snyder and Terry Stanfield of Houston; one stepdaughter,
Sherry Twyman of Prairie Village, Kan.; one sister, Evelyn Thomas of Marshall, Mo. And
formerly of Snyder; two brothers, Ralph LaRose of Independence, Mo., and Bill LaRose of
Prairie Village, Kan.; two grandsons, Christopher and Jeffrey Stanfield, both of Snyder;
one granddaughter, Terra Stanfield Seidel of Crawfordsville, Ind.; one stepgrandson, Matt
Twyman, one step great-grandson, Luke Twyman, both of Des Peres, Mo.; and one step
granddaughter, Emily Twyman of Prairie Village, Kan.
Fay Beights
1942-2004
SWEETWATER -- Fay Nell Beights, a former resident of
Snyder, died Saturday, Feb. 7, in Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service for Mrs. Beights, 61, is set for 2 p.m.
Thursday in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Orvel Brantley officiating. Burial
will follow in the Loraine Cemetery.
Born March 12, 1942 in Flatonia, Mrs. Beights was a
graduate of Colorado City High School in 1961. The same year on Oct. 6 she married Frank
Beights in Cuthbert.
She earned an associates degree in business
management from Western Texas College and worked for Sweetwater Electric until her
retirement in 1997. She lived in Sweetwater from 1964 to 1969 when she moved to Snyder and
then returned to Sweetwater in 1993. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Snyder.
She was preceded in death by a son, Frankie Sanford
Beights in 1982; her father, R.B. Treadway in 1985; and by her mother, Mary Spence
Treadway in 2001.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Beights of
Sweetwater; five brothers, Chester Treadway of Rush Springs, Okla., Bill Treadway of
Roscoe, Kenneth Treadway of Medford, Ore., O.D. Treadway of Avery, and R.B. Treadway of
White City, Ore.
Ed Booker
1951-2004
MIDLAND -- Edward Arnold Booker, a former student at
Western Texas College, died Thursday, Feb. 5, at his home in Midland.
A memorial service for Mr. Booker, 53, was held Saturday
at the North A Street Church of Christ in Midland. Arrangements were under the direction
of Nalley-Pickel and Welch Funeral Home.
Born Jan. 2, 1952 in Midland to Mary Frances and Earl
Booker, he attended schools in Midland before earning an associate of arts degree from
Western Texas College. He then earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of
Houston. He was employed with the Texas Railroad Commission.
Mr. Booker was a certified ombudsman for the Permian
Basin Area Agency on Aging and taught computer classes at the Ideal Family Center. He
returned to Midland in 1997 and was a member of the North A Street Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother
Earl D. Booker Jr.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Booker of Midland; a
son, Robert Lathan of Lubbock and a daughter LaVinya Coleman of Dallas; two sisters,
Patricia Holt and Sandra Brumbaugh; a brother, Brian Booker; and one granddaughter.
Thelma Northcutt
1917-2004
LEVELLAND -- Thelma Northcutt, the mother of Gary
Northcutt of Snyder, died Friday, Feb. 6, at Covenant Hospital in Levelland.
Funeral service for Mrs. Northcutt, 86, was set for 2
p.m. today in the First Church of the Nazarene with the Revs. Malcolm Bolger, Michael Pigg
and Mike Davis officiating. Burial was to follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery under
the direction of Geo. C. Price Funeral Directors.
Born June 4, 1917 in Fannin County. She married the Rev.
Claude Northcutt on Dec. 24, 1938 in Durant, Okla.
Mrs. Northcutt moved from Hereford to Levelland in 1959
and retired after 20 years working in the food service department at Levelland Junior
High. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Levelland.
Survivors include another son, Wayne Northcutt of
Levelland; two daughters, Carol Ruthardt of Morton and Beth Young of Bethany, Okla.; a
sister, Faye Northcutt of Temple; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
