The Hermleigh Lady Cardinals secured their first district win of the season Tuesday, outscoring Blackwell 15-3 in the pivotal third quarter to take a 52-34 victory.
Hermleigh (6-12, 1-7) led 24-17 at halftime, extending it to 39-20 by the end of the third quarter.
Alana Culp stepped up with 20 points to lead all scorers, and Brittany Jones added 16 for the Lady Cards.
Georgeanne Smith added eight, Brittney Kelly knocked in five and Alicia Culp contributed three.
The Lady Cards will travel to Westbrook to battle the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m.

The Hermleigh Cardinals finally got out of the gate Tuesday, outscoring Blackwell 15-12 in the first quarter before getting outscored 44-28 the rest of the way to fall, 66-43.
The Cardinals remained winless in district play.
Jonathan McClure scored 19 points and Shane Berry added 10 for the Cards.
They will take on the Wildcats in Westbrook at 8 p.m.
