Snyder ISD was the target of a terroristic threat for the third time in less than two weeks. Friday’s bomb threat occurred just as classes were being dismissed for the day.
A call was received at approximately 3:35 p.m. to the special programs office in the Humble Smith building on 37th Street.
Snyder police, along with members of Snyder Fire and Rescue, conducted a search of the building. About an hour later, Police Sgt. Brian Haggard emerged to announce that nothing out of the ordinary was found.
“I can assure you that prosecution will be s ought on each and every one of these cases,” he said. “We will aggressively investigate each call that comes in. It’s very important that we catch whoever is responsible and put a stop to this.”
Snyder High School received a call just before noon Wednesday, allegedly from a 16-year-old student calling on a cell phone from inside the school.
On Jan. 22 a call was received at the Alternative Education Program building on El Paso. No suspect has been identified in the first incident.
