Shinichiro Ito of Osaka, Japan and Stormy Clark of Snyder this morning were named the outstanding male and female students at Western Texas College.
Dr. Greg Williams, WTC president, presented the awards.
These and many fellow students received recognition during the annual awards ceremony in the campus courtyard.
Other nominees for the outstanding male student were Samuel Calvo, Donald D. Robertson and Sam Spreadborough.
Other nominees for outstanding female student were Stacey Garcia, Amanda Greenwood, Amber House, Dorothy Fredine Ward and Yee Man Yu.
Students and the departments they received awards from include: Brenda Albarran, most improved art student; Jeff Hernandez, top art student.
Outstanding students and departments included Bryce Meador and Lisa Parker, freshman English; Stephanie Wardlaw sophomore English; English 1301, Tate Stratton, Krisha Bush and Delores Chaidez; English 1302, Stacey Senn and Erin Brnak.
Jeff “Moose” Amato and Stormy Clark received the best in crew -- “Week in Review” awards.
Others were Lisa Parker and Tate Stratton, freshman ag students; Amanda Greenwood, Cindy Nachlinger and Nathan Shrode, sophomore ag students.
Stormy Clark, business administration; Rebecca Phillips, top COSC 1300 student; Jason Guynes, outstanding COSC 1301 student.
Kazuhiro Inoue and Jeremee Lester; math; Delores Chaidez and Kasey Jeffery, human anatomy and physiology; and Evan Reed, chemistry.

Teresa Falcon and Rhonda Thomas, top CBT freshman students; Lisa Daniels, Robert Lane, Fredine Ward and Esther Zamarripa, top CBT sophomore students ; Lisandra Bueno and Oscar Hernandez; criminal justice.

The event is sponsored by the Faculty Association and Donny Brown, president, served as the master of ceremonies.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in honor of all recipients.
