The top ten student-winners in the 17th Congressional District from the 23rd Annual Congressional Art Competition for high school students were recognized as the congressional art brunch this Saturday in Abilene.

Three Snyder High School students were among the 10 winners including Kristel Fitts, Stephanie Williams and Sara Thornhill.

Students’ parents and art teachers also attended the brunch. Cong. Charles W. Stenholm, 17th Congressional District, met the art students.

Stenholm has hosted eight regional competitions in recent weeks, leading up to Saturday’s art brunch that honors the top 10 and the overall winner.

The winning art entries were displayed during the brunch.

The winning entry from Stenholm’s district will be exhibited -- along with art from students in the 434 other Congressional Districts in the U.S. -- for one year in the tunnel space between the U.S. Capitol and the Cannon House Office Building in Washington.
