Roberto Lopez
1991-2004
Roberto R. Lopez, a sixth grader at West Elementary, died
Tuesday, April 13, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
Funeral service was set for 2 p.m. today in Our Lady of
Guadalupe Catholic Church with U.S. Army Chaplain Capt. Leo Moras, a family friend,
officiating. The Rev. Roy Badillas of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, the Rev. Rudy Casta,
pastor of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Lamesa, and the Rev. John Chero, pastor of
St. Michael Catholic Church in Anson, were to assist. Burial was to follow in Hillside
Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Born July 8, 1991 in San Angelo with congenital heart
disease, he had undergone successful surgery on Dec. 21, 1995 at Childrens Medical
Center in Dallas. Roberto had an avid interest in computers, video games and movies.
Survivors include his father and mother, Jose L. and
Maria Lopez of Snyder; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Maritza and Ubaldo Juarez of
Snyder and Ginelda Lopez of Snyder; a brother, Jose Lopez Jr. of Snyder; paternal
grandparents, Humberto and Candelaria Lopez of San Angelo; two nieces, Andrea and Adrianna
Juarez of Snyder; and Leo Moras, a brother in faith.
John Derryberry
1932-2004
John Paul Pod Derryberry of Snyder died
Sunday, April 11, in Snyder.
Graveside service for Mr. Derryberry, 71, is set for 10
a.m. Thursday in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale
Funeral Home.
Born May 9, 1932 in Loraine, Mr. Derryberry was a retired
cowboy, bull rider, rodeo clown, and had worked on ranches throughout West Texas. He was
an Army veteran and had served in Korea. Mr. Derryberry had lived in Snyder the past three
years, moving from Lubbock where he had lived 15 years. He was a member of the Church of
Christ.
His wife, Foy Bilbrey Derryberry, died in 2000.
Survivors include two brothers, Larry Dan Derryberry and
wife, Sherry, of Snyder and Sonny Derryberry of Edgemont, S.D.; four sisters, Bobbie Ray
Moore of Midland, Louise Brimmer of Highmore, S.D., Paulette McCollum of California, and
Sandra Kimsey of Texarkana, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.
Florence Frazier
1929-2004
JACKSBORO -- Florence Short Frazier, a former
resident of Snyder, died Monday, April 12, in Wichita Falls.
Funeral service for Mrs. Frazier, 74, is set for 2 p.m.
Thursday in the Coker Funeral Home Chapel with B.J. Nunley officiating. Burial will follow
in the Oakwood Cemetery.
Born Sept. 19, 1929 in Jack County, Mrs. Frazier had
worked as a cook at the Green Frog Café.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and
Zella Rummage Isbell; a daughter, Sharon Hammond; two sisters, Eula Mae McCullum and
Ardath Frazier; and two brothers, Jerry Isbell and Kenneth Isbell.
Survivors include four daughters, Joanne Mason of
Jacksboro, Jeannie Davis of Beaumont, Debbie Heathcote of California and Danta Truvette
Frazier of Jacksboro; three sons, Danny Frazier and Freddie Frazier, both of Jacksboro,
and Michael Frazier of California; two sisters, Jolene McBee of California and Thelma
Frazier of Memphis, Texas; five brothers, Loyd Isbell of Snyder, Cecil Isbell of Gordon,
Sonny Isbell, Allen Isbell and Claude Isbell, all of Jacksboro; 14 grandchildren; 21
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Sarah Richards
1930-2004
Sarah Geneta Richards died this morning at her home in
Snyder.
Services are pending with Wright Colonial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Richards was born on April 7, 1930.
She is survived by her husband, Wilmer Richards, and a
son, Larry Richards, both of Snyder.
