Snyder High School Future Farmers of America chapter competed in the Abilene Christian University Agricultural Field Day and one SHS teams placed first.

The farm business management team consisting of Megan DeLoera, Logan West, Emily Long and Rusty Smith claimed top spot.

Individually, DeLoera was first high point, West was second, Long was third and Smith ninth.

Tamara Taylor earned 16th place in individual competition.

“This is a great contest and Snyder has won 10 of the last 12 years,” West said.”

The land team -- competing for the first time -- finished 21st place. Team members were William Greenwood, Paige Anderson and Casey Long.

Long said, “We had only practiced a couple of times so we didn’t really expect to place. Luckily, today we were able to learn the ropes of the contest and we should be ready to contend for the top spots in a couple of weeks.”

Agricultural science teachers are Jessica Colvin and David Frazier.
