The district tennis tournament continued this morning in Snyder, with both Snyder number ones and the boys doubles team of Matt Hale and Jospeh Ynguanzo playing for the district championship this morning.

Andra Dunham was facing Jessica Carson of Sweetwater in the championship, after rolling through her first three matches.

Dunham, who had a first-round bye, beat Lamesa’s Stace Hernandez, 6-1, 6-0, in the second round before upending Rebecca Long from Sweetwater, 6-4, 6-4, in the semifinals.

Tanner Reed also was pitted against Ivan Ramirez of Sweetwater this morning for the men’s singles title.

Reed lost just one game in his first two matches after receiving a first-round bye. He beat Lamesa’s Jeffrey Lee, 6-0, 6-0, in the second round and cruised past Robbie Strzelec of Sweetwater, 6-0, 6-1, in the semis.

The boys doubles team of Hale and Ynguanzo also advanced to the championship after claiming a pair of hard-fought matches.

Hale and Ynguanzo slipped past the team of Steven Boehm and Colby Morris, 7-5, 5-7, 6-1, in the second round, and topped Samon Kashani and Ryan Aiken from Sweetwater, 6-4, 6-2, in the semis.

The duo was to play A. J. Arteaga and Kelsey Matchen of Sweetwater in the finals this morning.
