The Snyder Tigers braved the wind, the rain and the chill Monday, firing a 308 to seize control of the District 3-3A golf tournament.
Playing through a persistent drizzle at Sammy Baugh Golf Course at Western Texas College, Snyder doubled its district lead over Sweetwater, finishing 16 shots better Monday to increase its advantage by 31 shots.
Snyder came into the round up by 15 over the Mustangs, who fired a 324 Monday.
Seminole also fired a 324 and stand 36 shots off the pace, while the Snyder junior varsity team is eight strokes off third after firing a 326 for a two-round total of 654.
Snyder also holds five of the top 10 spots in the individual standings, with Alan Gray and Brady Shivers of Seminole locked in a first-place tie at 150.
Jay Weaver is third with a 152, while Jake Cottrell and Tanner Bloom are fourth and fifth.
Gray carded a 76 in the second round, while Weaver improved from a first-round 78 to a 74.
Cottrell and Tanner Bloom both fired a 79, while Cole Robertson shot an 82.
For the junior varsity, Wyl Wiggins stroked a 78, Matt Schoolcraft recorded an 81 and John Whitworth shot an 83.
Blake Seale carded an 84 and Syd Wiggins shot an 87.
Medalist for Snyder were Seth Cooper (85), Jordan Payne (86) and Ryne Trout (96).
The Tigers will wrap up the district tournament next Tuesday at Denver City.
