Snyder High School has again won the District 3-3A UIL Literary Meet. SHS had already earned 242 points in the March 27 district contest. When A Midsummer Night’s Dream won the one-act competition Saturday at Sweetwater High School, that put SHS over the top for the sweepstakes award with 476 points to Seminole High School’s 468.

SHS drama students also won several awards. Tyler Price, Logan Martin and Coleman Welch were named to the all-star cast.

Stephanie Parmer received honorable mention all-star cast.

Snyder won four of five technical awards including Justin Cox, stage manager and lighting; best crew, and best over-all technical award.

Denver City won best sound.

Director Michael McQuerry praised his students this morning. “I am very proud of their performance and of the commitment the kids made to the play and each other. I felt they were rewarded for that.”

The drama department is now preparing for the Area II contest set Friday at Allison Fine Arts Building, Wagner and Brown Auditorium at Midland College.
