Although Cogdell Memorial Hospital’s rural health clinic does not currently have a permanent physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner, the clinic is in full operation.
“The last candidate we offered the job to turned us down because his current employer gave him a $10,000 per year raise, plus tuition reimbursement,” said Nick Blythe, clinic administrator.
“We offered the job on a Thursday and he called us back Friday that he had gotten the raise and wasn’t wanting to move,” said Blythe.
“Monday, we have a temporary replacement coming in who is available for permanent placement,” said Blythe.
“We’ll both be looking at each other and if it works out, we’ll offer the job permanently,” said Blythe.
Currently, Bill McGuire is doing an excellent job for us,” said Blythe.
Blythe said a recent insurance glitch has been worked out and filings are going as they were previously.
