Barbecue pro Kerry Clay is building a restaurant in Dunn that he hopes to have open sometime next month.
“At least we’re shooting for a May opening,” said Clay who annually wins awards participating in cook-offs throughout the United States.
The slab of the 52x100-foot building was to have been poured this morning on FM 1606, just a west of the Hwy. 280 intersection en route to Ira.
“We will have seating for about 200 and will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, plus noon on Sunday,” said Clay.
The new facility to be called Dunn-Right BBQ & Steak House, will have Kerry cooking plus one more person in the kitchen, and about three on the wait staff, said Clay.
“We’ll also book parties, weddings, family reunions, just about anything. We’re ready to get it going,” added Clay.
