Elida Garcia
1931-2003
Elida Garcia, longtime Snyder resident, died Tuesday,
June 17, in Abilene Regional Hospital in Abilene.
Services for Mrs. Garcia, 72, are pending at
Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Born on April 14, 1931 in Robstown, Mrs. Garcia had lived
in Snyder since 1950. She had worked for many years at Snyder Laundry and Dry Cleaning,
and did upholstery for Dunham Mattress Factory and Fenton Furniture.
Survivors include her husband, Arnulfo Garcia Jr. of
Snyder; a daughter, Andrea Snider of Liberal, Kan.; a son and daughter-in-law, Louis and
Mary Garcia of China Grove; a sister and brother-in-law, Evangelina and Rick Yruegas of
San Antonio; and a grandson, Joshua Snider of Liberal, Kan.
Earnest Biggers
1917-2003
Earnest Biggers of Colorado City died Saturday, June 14,
in Valley Fair Lodge.
Service for Mr. Biggers, 85, is set for 11 a.m. Thursday
in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Colorado City. Burial will follow in the Mitchell County
Cemetery in Colorado City. The Rev. H.H. Lee of Colorado City will officiate.
Wright Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.
Born Dec. 17, 1917 in Milam County, Mr. Biggers married
Angeline Baker on Jan. 18, 1939 in Cameron.
He was preceded in death by one son, Earnest Biggers Jr.;
four daughters, Nettie Mae Brooks, Ernestine Biggers, Celestine Biggers and Christine
Biggers.
Survivors include his wife, Angeline Biggers of Colorado
City; a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Willie Foote of Spanaway, Wash.; two daughters,
Evelyn Dillard and Theresa Thompson, both of Colorado City; two sons and daughters-in-law,
Frank and Janice Biggers of Colorado City and Nikko and Tennille Biggers of Arlington;
three sisters, Wilma Biggers of Colorado City, Helen Ward of Waco and Leesther Biggers of
Abilene; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.
