Randy Dollins
1950-2001
Randal Dean Randy Dollins, died Saturday, June 23, in Cogdell Memorial Hospital following a long battle with cancer.
Funeral service for Mr. Dollins, 51, was set for 2 p.m. today in the 37th Street Church of Christ with Dale Huff, minister, officiating. Burial was to follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Born March 17, 1950 in Shawnee, Okla., he married Belinda Jane Langford on Feb. 20, 1970 at the Union Baptist Church.
A graduate of Snyder High School, Mr. Dollins was a pumper and a member of the band Crossfire. He was a Baptist and attended the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Belinda Jane Dollins of Snyder; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin D. and Jennifer Kay Dollins of Hawkins and Kerry Lynn and Linda Sue Dollins of Fluvanna; his parents, Don and Marie Dollins of Snyder; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Daryl Meador and Lisa and Louis Midwell of Snyder; his in-laws, Robert and Mary Langford of Snyder; his grandchildren, Haleigh Brooke Dollins, Caleb Wayne Wilson, Teah Denae Dollins, Skylar Logan Dollins and Abedale Mackenzie Dollins; aunts and uncles, Gene Terry of Shawnee, Herman Terry of Snyder, Bif and Betty Whiteley of Newcastle and Jeff and Willie Mae Hall of Missouri; nephews, Christopher Meador of Stillwater, Okla., and Louis Lee Midwell of Snyder; and two nieces, Amanda Midwell and Stephanie Ruiz, both of Snyder.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Community Care Hospice, 1510 S. Gregg in Big Spring, 79720.
Dean Smith
1912-2001
Calvert Dean Smith, a former resident of Scurry County, died Saturday, June 23, in a Brownwood nursing home.
Graveside service for Mr. Smith, 89, is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Snyder Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Born Jan. 9, 1912 in Bowser, Tex., he married Charlcie Lee Jones in 1932 in Snyder. She died in 1993.
A retired farmer and rancher, Mr. Smith had lived in Hermleigh and Snyder before moving to Zephyr in 1964. A member of the Zephyr Church of Christ, he was a former member of the Snyder Church of Christ and the Hermleigh Church of Christ.
Smith of Horseshoe Bay; three sisters, Bonita Moore and Montie Rea Iverson, both of Snyder, and Captola Rice of Lubbock; a sister-in-law, Arpie Smith of Trinity; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rosie Smith; two brothers; and two sisters.
Jean Sadler
1926-2001
TYLER Jean Everett Sadler, a former resident of Snyder, died Saturday, June 23, in Tyler.
Funeral service for Mr. Sadler, 74, was set for 2 p.m. today in the Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Tyler with the Rev. Robert Carter officiating. Burial was to follow in the Ebenzer Cemetery in Arp under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Born Dec. 13, 1926 in Bristow, Okla., Mr. Sadler was a 1945 graduate of New London High School and a survivor of the New London school explosion in 1937.
A veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, he married Betty Lorine Lyon in September, 1948 in Arp. Mr. Sadler had lived in Midland and Snyder before moving to Tyler 10 years ago. He was retired as concrete manager for Concrete Inc.
Survivors include is wife, Betty Sadler of Tyler; two daughters and a son-in-law, Gail Jean Koening of Granbury and Debbie and Jim Toman of Spring; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
